Getting to Alto de San Roque was a feat. The ascent to this statue was steep and relentless. Just when I felt like my lungs were going to cave in, I saw him. This colossal statue perhaps felt what I felt: exhaustion but the deepest satisfaction. I made it to the top! **This photo was taken on Day 44 of my Camino Frances.
